What to expect of Tortuguero National Park?
Tortuguero National Park is recognized internationally for protecting the most important green sea turtle nesting beach in the Western Hemisphere.
Its climate is humid, with annual rainfall reaching 6000 mm in the northern part of the park.
It is one of the rainiest areas in the country. There is no dry season, but it is a fact that it rains less in February, March, and October.

To access Tortuguero in Costa Rica, you must arrive early at La Pavona dock before 4 p.m. to catch the last boat ride in.
There are no cars or ATMs, so we recommend bringing cash.
There are no cars. The main mode of transportation is by boats.
You must buy tickets on the National Park Tortuguero website: sinac.go.cr
Bring insect repellent and sunscreen lotion.
Don't purchase tours from uncertified companies
There's more than 50% chance of rain, bring a raincoat.
